Our program is not limited to internships! We know that getting exposure to different career and work experiences during high school sets students up to succeed in their future college and career ventures. Career exploration is a process starting the first year of high school and continuing through graduation:
-
Freshmen start exploring careers through workplace tours and career fairs.
-
Sophomores seek out short job shadow opportunities.
-
Juniors dedicate their time to a full internship experience.
-
Seniors explore their networks, and write about their job experiences in digital portfolios, resumes, and college applications.
We are asking you to partner with us to create a career experience for our students. As an employer you have the opportunity to open the world of work to youth—to teach them the content, skills and attitude needed to succeed in a work environment—and we value the unique experiences you can share with them about your field.
Central to our program is leveraging the internship as a learning experience. Through an evaluation process, we ask for your feedback on students’ work performance, and collaborate on ways to recognize their achievements and support their improvement as employees. Students also engage in a reflection process and report on their successes and struggles in the workplace. After the internship, we help our students connect their experiences with opportunities for higher education and work after high school.
We hope you will join us to help fulfill the college and career planning mission we have for our students.
