International Day of Peace

Today the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences celebrated the International Day of Peace. Students learned about peaceful protest, and heard from invited members of the community about various community organizations and activist efforts that are taking place in New Haven now.

These organizations included Black Lives Matter (Isa Mujahid and Maurice "Blest" Peters), Citywide Youth Coalition (Addys Castillo), JUNTA for Progressive Action (Juancarlos Soto), and Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS; Will Kneerim). They also created artwork and participated in other activities related to peace.
