Trip to NYC

On May 18 fifty IADAS students visited Ellis Island and Liberty Island, two of the most important landmarks in our immigration history. Students compared and contrasted their journey to the United States to those that came through Ellis Island. Visiting Liberty Island and Freedom Tower allowed students to understand the idea of freedom and liberty that this country represents.

This field trip contributed to the development of students into young men and women who possess more knowledge about the history of immigration to the United States. Students also visited the World Trade Center Memorial where they learned a more about American history and the events of September 11th.
